Think You Can Handle This?

The best way to see if a career in Firefighting is right for you is to experience it first-hand. Learn the skills you need, and help your community in the end. A career as a volunteer firefighter, such as with Melrose, is both challenging and rewarding.

If you wish to stay and assist with the Company, we also have a Social Member option. Help out with Company events and community service without having to go to calls.

Membership Requirements and First Steps:
  1. All candidates for the Melrose Fire Company must be at least 16 years of age. Obtain, complete, and hand in a copy of the Melrose Fire Company Application.
  2. Come to the next scheduled Melrose Fire Company Monthly Meeting to introduce youself to the membership and present your application. The membership will have the opportunity to ask questions.
  3. Firematic applications would also go before the Board of Fire Commissioners, the authority having jurisdiction over the Melrose Fire District.
  4. Membership will vote on the application on the next scheduled Monthly Meeting. If the vote is approved, you will join as a new member. Welcome aboard!
